Be of Good Cheer

The Lord has taught us to be of good cheer. When we are in our premortal life we shouted for joy because of the opportunity to progress to our second estate (Job 38:4, 8) We were aware that during mortality we would experience pain, sorrow, disappointment, afflictions, problems as well as joy and happiness. With all this knowledge we felt peace and security because we knew that our Heavenly Father would always be mindful of us and that He will always be there to help and comfort us.

Trials are part of the Lord’s plan for us

In life, we will have:

  • disappointments, trials, and problems
  • experience joy
  • Satan will tempt us – because he wants us to be miserable like him

The Lord wants us to succeed and be happy in our life. Eventhough we have so many challenges in our life and sometimes we feel down and miserable, remember always that there is someone who can help us rise above our blues and that is the Lord.

We can be of good cheer even in difficult times

In John 16:33 it says and I quote “These hings I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation, but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”

In Matthew 14:27 it says and I quote “But straightway Jesus spake unto them saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.

The Lord will always be there for us no matter what. He knows what we feel and what we want. He is there to strengthen us whenever we feel lonely and down. We are given trials to gain experience, to shape our character and to learn and progress in this life. Whenever we feel discourage, remember to count the blessings we receive each day and we will be surprised on what the Lord has done to us.

Remember that we shall find rest in the Lord and He will lift us at the last day if we will remain faithful and righteous unto the end.

A very important lesson…

Just wan to share a very important lesson that I’ve learned last Sunday in our RS Class.

“Our lives will depend upon the decisions which we make for decisions determine destiny”

Our decisions and choices in life can determine not just our destiny but also our happiness. We are given freedom to choose between right or wrong but we are not free to choose the consequences of our choices in our life. If we want to be happy let us do things in the right way and let the Lord be the center of our lives for He will always be there to guide and help us.

We have the ability and power to choose. We have to know, to choose and to determine what we should do to make our lives meaningful and happy. Let us continue to be good and be strong as we continue to live and fight all the battles in our lives…..GOD BLESS US!

The Spirit of Christmas

What is the true spirit of Christmas?

The true spirit of Christmas is not about receiving gifts it’s about giving and sharing your love, service and blessings to people around you. Every Christmas, each of us expect gifts from our parents, friends and other loved ones and always get excited when we see gifts under our Christmas Tree. But haven’t you thought about those people around you who are very much in need? No matter what happens, Christmas will always be here but not all people celebrate Christmas like we do. Some families and individuals doesn’t celebrate Christmas with roasted chicken, ham, spaghetti and fruits on their table because they can’t afford to buy them. But we can help them to celebrate Christmas in their homes and make them happy by giving gifts, singing Christmas carols, cheering them up and sharing some of our foods to them.

We must always remember that we just don’t celebrate Christmas because it’s a holiday and it’s a time were we get to eat a lot of food and receive gifts but it’s a time that we remember and cherish Jesus Christ’s birth whom we dearly love for He’s our savior!

Let us all feel the spirit of Christmas! The cold breeze, the smile of people we meet each day, the love and warmth we feel with our family and the love & kindness of God will always bring happiness to us! May we all have a very happy Christmas!!
